Melanie has worked closely alongside Zac Crookes learning the fundamentals of core shamanism and advanced workshops in core shamanism since 2020.

She has also continues to learn from Kerry Henwood (cross cultural and medicine carrier).

In her spare time she does healings for friends and family using a range of different techniques taught to her by her teachers from several traditions.

She has also been on the Andean path since late 2020, partaking in despachos with the Qero community.

Melanie has studied under Joan Parisi Wilcox learning the sacred arts in Andean mysticism. She has completed the Foundation Training in Andean Mysticism,

The Master classes and several deep dives into the tradition.

She currently continues to learn from a Pampamesayoq who has direct lineage in the Qero tradition and whose father was initiated as an Altomesayoq.

Melanie is also passionate about learning from her own cultural roots, as she is half Filipino. She also studies underneath a Mumbaki (Filipino shaman) learning traditional Filipino spirituality from the Ifugao region. Her teacher Mamerto Tindongan is passionate about preserving Ifugao culture and spirituality.

Melanie also has a deep interest in Buddhist practices such as Chöd and continues to learn from an experienced Chodpa in her spare time. She also goes by the dharma name Kunzang Pamo, passed down to her through lineage of well known Buddhist Chod master Lama Wangdu.

As for work, Melanie spends her time to care for those with disabilities. She is interested in doing volunteer work in the near future working in mental health to help those struggling with mental illness. Melanie has lived experience and she wants to make a meaningful impact to those that are struggling.

Who we are

Zac Crookes

Zacchary Crookes is a male Shamanic practitioner, located in Brisbane Australia who often travels to Christchurch, NZ.

Since 2012 Zac has been training with Kerry Henwood (cross cultural Shaman and medicine carrier), and Georgia Hovey (First Breath-Rebirthing), among others. Mixing traditional practice with ‘core Shamanism’.

He has travelled the world to explore and experience Indigenous traditions and the landscapes they inhabit. He has participated in a multitude of diverse ceremonies, rituals, and teachings from around the globe. Zac has wide experience in both private sessions’ and in facilitating group trainings.

Zac started out as a gardener and landscaper for a profession. Also hiking, and rock climbing in his spare time. Eventually becoming a rock climbing guide, he continues this path often up skilling and gaining qualifications. His heart has always been deeply rooted to nature, especially the mountains. Now days Zac works as a professional rock climbing guide and instructor.

While Zac does have training in several styles of Shamanism and other mystic traditions he has chosen to focus strongly on the traditions of the Peruvian Amazon, the healers of Northern and South Eastern Peru, the traditions of the Andean people, and the Himalayan mountain traditions.

Zac also has a deep connection with the Aghori tradition and practices several elements of this tradition on a regular basis, a large focus on cutting through ego and cutting through fearful attachments. In the form of ‘wrathful compassion’.

As part of this he holds both open and secret teachings from several traditions that practice in and around the Himalayan mountains. Having undertaken training with a range of Lamas, Sadhus, and Yogis. Sitting in between Buddhism and Hinduism he doesn’t live a monastic lifestyle but has been given permission to practice many rituals and ceremonies tied to these traditions. Mostly of the Vajrayana Tantric practices, and its predecessor Bon Shamanism as well as the traditional lineage of Chod. As someone who holds many titles as a medicine man and mystic practitioner he doesn't hold onto or use these titles often.

He has a Diploma in Ayurvedic medicine and holds Advanced Diplomas’ in Herbalism, Homeopathy, and Flower essence therapy. In addition to his vast background in the healing arts, he has a certificate in Permaculture practice and design. Working for years as a landscaper and landscape designer. These experiences come together in brilliant form to qualify him in the rites of several Indigenous traditions. His work and teaching has close ties to that of the Curandero healers, and Bon Shamans.

His authenticity through his own life experiences and vast knowledge, render him a gifted teacher, as others experience gentle, yet powerful healings in his presence.
